Are you tech-savvy?
In order to complete an internet educational program, you should be tech-savvy. If you do not have adequate knowledge on using the computer and the Internet, then think twice whether internet education is the right choice for you. You should also have basic knowledge about the latest antivirus solution, have the know-how on the kind of software programs required for the online course, and whether your PC has sufficient hard drive space. Besides, you should also know the basics opening a particular file, burning your CD, basic bug fixing and so on (at least till the time you call the technician). Knowing the internet well is also essential. For example, if you are not comfortable on things like how to send and receive mail, operate the chat box, attach files and download programs, it would be difficult for you to continue with internet learning.
Are you self-motivated?
In internet education it is expected that the student should be self-motivated. If you have a good sense of self-discipline, time your studies well, follow written instructions and materials and prefer to work when left alone. Do not take up an internet educational program just because your friend, neighbor or colleague is doing so. You may also be tempted a good discount by an online institute. But you should take up the courses only if you have a fixed purpose of taking up online education. Generally people who wish to advance their career, is looking for a rise or have a strong eagerness to gain new knowledge should take up this mode of learning. End of day, you have to study sincerely, write a test and get a certificate/degree. So you should carefully take these things into account and get enrolled only if you are prepared for all these.
